Lead Shift Operator

Pocatello, Idaho | Full-Time

 

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Read and understand production schedule, customer orders, and shipping orders. Instruct and train others on shift to determine hay to be moved, gathered, and distributed.
  • Unload hay trucks and load containers for distribution.
  • Make sure staff performs daily inspections and basic maintenance, provide instruction on these responsibilities when needed.
  • Ensure accurate records are maintained on amounts of hay brought to press and amounts processed each shift.
  • Documentation of shipments as needed.
  • Responsible to restack rejected hay as instructed.
  • Keep work area clean.
  • Instruct and document weekly team safety meetings.
  • Assist management with Key Metrics and see that goals are achieved focusing on Product Safety Industry Standards, training hours, team work, and customer satisfaction.
  • Shutdown and properly secure equipment upon completion of assigned task.
  • Other duties as assigned by Operations Manager and/or Plant Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with Forklift, Telehandler, Trucks, Hydraulics. Must be able to be Forklift/Telehandler certified.
  • Farming or agriculture background a plus.
  • Must be able to communicate with others effectively orally and in writing, must understand English.
  • Must be detail oriented, committed to product quality without jeopardizing safety.
  • Ability or organize work and set priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to read, understand and follow safety and company policies.
  • Knowledge of appropriate emergency protocols.
  • Ability to remain calm in the event of an emergency.
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Six months of related experience or training, or combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with good record.
  • Bilingual; Spanish & English
